The Neuse River at Kinston has crested and there is some flooding. The river stands at 16.1-feet, just about 2 feet above flood stage.
So far the impact has been minimal. Parts of the campground at the Neuseway Nature Center have flooded because of last week's heavy rains.
The National Weather Service says the river in Kinston should hold its level around 16-feet until Saturday morning and then fall below flood stage by late Sunday morning.
In 1999, the Neuse reached a high water mark of 27-feet during Hurricane Floyd.
