Kinston Police said they are still investigating what happened when a child was hit by a car along Hill Farm Road.
Commander R.G. Russell told WITN at 8:47 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the area of Hill Farm Road and Joan Drive.
Police said a 13-year-old girl was hit by a car near the Murphy Express gas station while tring to cross Hill Farm Road.
We know that child was taken to Vidant Medical Center, and police say she was conscious and alert. No word on how she's doing this morning.
Police said they are not releasing the name of the teen or the driver at this time, citing an on-going investigation.
