A restaurant considered one of the best in the region is preparing to open its doors, nearly four months after a destructive kitchen fire.
Chef and the Farmer in Kinston held its grand reopening Tuesday.
The dining room has been redesigned, and the restaurant has a new menu.
Opentable.com recently listed Chef and the Farmer as a winner of the Diners' Choice Awards for the Top 100 Best Restaurants in the United States. The chef, Vivian Howard, is a semi-finalist in the category of best chef in the southeast for the James Beard Foundation. That award's winner is set to be announced later this week.
