Kinston Boys Headed Back To State Finals

The Kinston High School boys basketball team is headed back to the Class 2A state finals to defend their title after coming from behind to beat Reidsville 71-61.

Kinston's Josh Dawson was named Eastern Regional Tournament Most Valuable Player after scoring 18 points against Reidsville in the tournament finals.

The Vikings trailed by as much as 16 points in the first half but hit six three-pointers in the second half to storm back for the win. Andrew Lopez hit four of the Vikings six second half triples and also finished with 18 points.

C.J. Bradshaw and Brandon Ingram each chipped in with 10 points in the victory.

Kinston will play for a second consecutive state title Saturday March 10th at 2:30pm at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.

    Kinston did not win dat game. Ps da 3 refs won dat game 4 dem wit da worst refreeing I hav eva seen. They called da game like they were paid by kinston
