Three rising UNC sophomores are making their way across the state, dribbling soccer balls.
We caught up with the trio in Lenoir County Tuesday.
While all three are aiming for a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, there's an added meaning. The boys are all of different faiths.
Ahmad Saad of Cary is Muslim. Sasha Seymore of New Bern is a Christian and Dylan Simel of New Bern is Jewish. They say they all became friends through soccer, and hope this trip across the state will encourage religious dialogue for others.
Saad says, "You know, our religious differences have never been an issue- so we thought why not use soccer as a medium to promote productive dialogue - construct a dialogue, between religions."
The trio plans to finish their trip by Saturday, arriving in Morehead City. So far they've logged nearly 350 miles.
