The federal government shutdown is causing more problems here at home with employees being furloughed on the county level.
Six employees of the Greene County Department of Social Services found out yesterday they're being cut to part-time employment.
County Manager Richard Hicks says most of the employees are in the Adult Services and Child Welfare departments. He says with the federal government shutdown, the county is losing that funding and doesn't have the resources to continue staffing at those levels without the federal dollars.
The six employees will go to part-time status on Monday.
