Kinston Police Release Photos Of Robber

Police this morning released surveillance photos of a man who they say robbed a Kinston convenience store last week.

Police say the armed man held up the Kangaroo Express on Highway 258 in Kinston around 10:00 pm Thursday night, that's right by the Bethel Christian Academy.

The gunman got away with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery, police say the clerk was the only person in the store at the time of the robbery.

The robber was wearing a white polo shirt with a blue stripe, blue jeans and a black hooded jacket.

If you have any information on this robbery, you can call Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at (252) 523-4444.

These Kinston cops and detectives couldn't find a crook if he was in city hall with a sign around his neck. Some changes need to be made starting at the top of the Police Department/Public Safety Department & get someone in there that can get a handle on this crime wave. If something's not done soon we all need to send a loud message through the ballot box next time & get a new mayor if our current one can't spearhead some kinda results. I supported Murphy in the past but something's gotta be done about this lawlessness in Kinston.

These crimes are nothing but gang crimes,if Kinston Dept.of Public Safety don't get a handle on the gang problem it is going to get worse.Young children with nothing to do,nowhere to go,ones that society has kicked to the curb, programs are cut every day that are aimed at helping these kids.We send money over seas to help the world, but we can't take care of our own.

"I See The Problem" your comment is hilarious but actually somewhat true I believe. Kinston has nothing to offer it's youth or anyone else for that matter. And 16-25 year olds get bored and with nothing to do but cause trouble, that's exactley what they do. Kinston need to do something about it's crime. It's already out of control. I know that "every city has crime" I seem to hear that alot from people who are in denial about the fact that Kinston ( for as small of a city as it is) has a problem. I don't understand why that statement is being used as an excuse and very little action is being taken.

I got there right after it happened. The guy looked totally freaked out. The sad thing is, it's right around the corner of my church!

There are a bunch of base ball & soccer fields in the area...but no basketball courts. Idle hands....

I understand your comment & agree fully. I think time & an arrest will confirm our suspicions.

Yes, because when I am bored I always find a store to rob....Seems to be the only thing to make me feel like I am a productive citizen.
