The 21-year-old suspected of shooting a teen will make his first court appearance Monday.
Tremain Kellam of Kinston is scheduled to appear in Lenoir County court Monday morning, for the shooting of 16-year-old Tashawn Burney Thursday at the Simon Bright Apartments.
WITN contacted Vidant Medical Center early Monday morning for an update on Burney's condition, but was told they didn't have information for him. However, we do know that the teen was upgraded to serious condition over the weekend.

A suspect has been charged with the shooting of a 16 year old teen, who is now in serious critical condition at Vidant Medical Center.
Tremaine Kellum, 21, is charged with attempted first degree murder, according to the Lenoir County Jail. He was booked just after 9 p.m. Thursday, five hours after 16-year-old TaShawn Burney was shot at the Simon Bright Apartments. Police say they picked up Kellum on Colgate Dr. shortly after the shooting.
Burney remained in critical condition early Friday morning, according to officials at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He is a student at Sampson School, the alternative school in Kinston.
The suspect, Tremaine Kellum, a convicted felon. His rap sheet includes a stolen car and assault by pointing a gun.
A teenager is hurt after an afternoon shooting in Kinston.
Officers were called to Simon Bright Court about 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
They say they found 16-year-old TaShawn Burney with a gunshot wound.
Officials report Burney was taken to the hospital in Greenville by an EastCare helicopter and was listed in critical condition.
Police say a person of interest is in custody regarding the shooting.
