Narcotics detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a suspected methamphetamine lab at 1059 Jonestown Road in Pink Hill Tuesday.

Detectives were following up on information provided by a concerned citizen who reported seeing a suspicious liquid or material in a bottle at the residence.

Based on the information, narcotics detectives went to the residence and spoke with the occupant, 30-year-old Edward Blalock.

Detectives say a search of the residence turned up drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine production materials and tools. Detectives believe the suspect was manufacturing meth within the past few weeks using these materials.

Detectives say one of the suspected meth labs was located in a truck of a vehicle on the property and the other under the home at the residence in the crawl space.

Blalock was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursors and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

His bond was set at $500,000.
