Deputies: 2 Busted With Pot, Gun At Lenoir County Checkpoint

A drivers license check point netted two arrests for drugs and a stolen firearm in Lenoir County. Deputies found a one-pound bag of suspected marijuana, 12 smaller bags with the same contents, and a firearm which was reported stolen.

Deputies detected the strong smell of marijuana coming from a black Impala at the check point. The driver of that vehicle, Christopher Jones, and his passenger, Jeffrey Jones, are both facing drug charges.

Jeffrey Jones will face additional charges for the stolen firearm.

Christopher Jones was held on $5,000 bond. Jeffrey Jones was held on $7,500 bond
