Kinston Woman Wanted For Assault, Robbery Arrested At Hospital

A woman who police say lured a friend into a robbery and assault trap is now in jail after being released from the hospital on Monday.

Jessica Trevena was arrested at Lenoir Memorial Hospital for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Kinston police say on Friday the 37-year-old woman is accused of trying to run over Jose Vasquez-Castro with his own vehicle. This after police say the woman asked Vasquez-Castro to come to the area near Fairfield Park. When she arrived, the victim said the woman removed the keys from his vehicle and two men then came to the vehicle, assaulted and robbed him.

Later that day police found the woman at a home on Dupree Street, unconscious in a bedroom.

Trevena was jailed on a $62,000 secured bond.

Police in Kinston say Friday June 22nd, Jessica Trevena lured her friend to West Washington Avenue in Kinston where he was met by two men who robbed him and stole his car. Police say Trevena may have tried running over the victim with his own car. They say a day later, she was found unconscious in a home ans she's now at the hospital with warrants pending her release.

Kinston police are searching for a stolen car after they say two men assaulted the owner, whose friend may have been in on the crime.

Police responded to a call around 1 a.m. of a person hit by a vehicle on Carolina Avenue.

Kinston police say 56-year-old Jose Vasquez-Castro of Farmville was called to Carolina Avenue by his acquaintance, 37-year-old Jessica Trevena of Kinston.

When Vasquez-Castro arrived, police say Trevena got in the car and removed the keys. They say two men then came to the car, assaulted him, and robbed him of his cell phone, pocket knife and his car. Police say Trevena then attempted to run over the victim and drove away with the other two men in the car.

Police have obtained a warrant for Trevena. She is wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Police are also searching for the car, which is an '89 Buick Lesabre. It is burgundy in color with one blue door. The tags are WTY-8737.
