Man Wanted For Killing Grandfather, Wounding Grandmother Back In Lenoir Co.

A man wanted for the 2006 murder of his grandfather and the wounding of his step-grandmother is now back in Lenoir County to face charges.

Deputies say Marlon Williams was arrested in May at a gas station in LaFayette, California by local police. Police say he lied about his identity, but after being fingerprinted authorities learned he was wanted in Lenoir County.

The shooting happened on September 26, 2006 in a church parking lot near the intersection of Dobbs Farm Road and Rouse Road. Robert Bryant was killed in the shooting, while Mildred Bryant survived.

Williams went before a magistrate Thursday morning and was denied bond.
