Fire investigators say they know where a fire started in a home Wednesday afternoon, they just don't know yet why it started.
Emergency Services Director Roger Dail says the fire at the home on Will Baker Road is not suspicious. He says it began in the top room of the home.
No one was injured, though firefighters had to battle the blaze in near 100 degree heat.
Three people escaped a burning home Wednesday afternoon in Lenoir County.
Emergency Services says the fire broke out around 4:00 p.m. at a home on Will Baker Road, that's off Highway 58 south of Kinston.
Multiple volunteer fire departments battled the fire in nearly 100 degree temperatures. The fire caused part of the home's roof to collapse. Crews have closed Will Baker Road on both ends.
The fire is now out but there is no immediate word on a cause.
