Juvenile Escapes From Kinston's Dobbs Youth Center

There's been another escape from the Dobbs Youth Development Center in Kinston.

The Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency says the escape happened around 11:00 a.m. Friday morning. They are only identifying the juvenile as "Nicholas H.".

The state says it has notified local law enforcement agencies who are on the lookout for the escapee.

If you see "Nicholas H." you should call your local police department or 911.

the number one reason kids are like they are today is because adults who they think they know it all told us that we cant punish the kids they way our parents did you or i and now they are out of hand you some people want to judge these kids they need to let the parents spank there kids and maybe they wont be so bad like they today.i didnt say killing them or beating them i mean a good spanking

This facility is funded by the state. A long time ago, I remember reading about the facility's request for additional funding to build an appropriate fence to decrease the rates of juvenile escapes. Apparently, they did not receive this funding . . . I wonder what it will take for the state to take action and address this reoccuring problem?

They need to put a 12 foot high fence and razor barbed wire around these little punks! They get away with way too much! It is obvious that he has been in the system for a little while. This kid has to be a serious offender on the borderline of prison. The Juvenile system is way too easy on the young ones. They go out and do it all over again. Time to crack down on the Hard core offenders!

Has anybody else ever paid attention to the "fence" on the back side of that place? Goes across downthe side of the 4 lane from about 2 feet from a hedgerow on one side to about 2 feet from the hedges on the other side. But does not turn at the corners to make it enclosed. Looks like people could just walk out...
