A Kinston Police Officer tells WITN that a 19-year-old involved in a pool accident Saturday has died at the hospital.
Officials say Jarad Norworthy of Kinston died at Lenoir Memorial Hospital Sunday. They say they do not know the official cause of death.
Officials say they responded to a call of a possible drowning Saturday to a home on Rouse Rd. in Kinston. They say when they arrived they found Northworthy submerged in the home's pool in the deep end.
Officials say at least one other person was around at the time. They say they do not believe foul play was involved.
The investigation into the death is ongoing.
An Officer with the Kinston Department of Public Safety says around 2:42 pm Saturday officers responded to a call of a possible drowning at 1905 Rouse Rd. in Kinston.
Officials say upon arrival they found a 19-year-old male in a pool at the residence.
Officials say he was removed from the pool by EMS and taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for treatment.
There is no word on his condition right now.
Officials say the teenager was not a resident of the home.
