A teen accused of killing a former high school classmate made his first court appearance Monday morning.
The charge against Kyliel Wade was upgraded to murder when Rasheed Jones died Saturday morning at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
The 17-year-old Kinston High School 11th grader was gunned down Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of Independence Street.
The first appearance for Wade was held in the Lenoir County jail. A judge increased his bond to $2-million and set his next court date as May 10th.
Wade's cousin spoke to us and says that if he's guilty, then he'll have to face justice, but cautioned the public not to pre-judge the teen.
School officials say the 17-year-old Wade was a student earlier this year at Kinston High, but was transferred to the county's alternative school.
Police say they are still looking for two other people involved in the murder.

Police say a suspect named Friday night in a shooting that left a high school student critically injured has turned himself in.
Kyliel Wade, who is 17-years-old, is charged with the attempted murder of Rasheed Jones. Police say Wade is now in the Lenoir County jail under a $1-million dollar bond.
Jones remains in critical condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The 17-year-old was shot in the head on the 500 block of North Independence Street Thursday afternoon. Jone is an 11th grader at Kinston High School.
Police have not said what a possible motive was in the shooting, and they continue to follow leads for more suspects.

Records show Wade was convicted for second degree trespass from Lenoir County in October and given a suspended sentence plus probation.

Students at one high school struggle with the fact one of their classmates is fighting for his life in a Greenville hospital.

Officials say the 17-year-old was rushed to Lenoir Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Pitt County Memorial. Hospital officials could not confirm his condition.
Jones is a junior at Kinston High School. School officials say counselors are on campus Friday helping students cope with the shooting.
"A very nice young man, very likable young man, well respected by his peers, smiling all the time," said principal Wynn Whittington.
"Whether they're here for the 7 or 8 hours, they're here a day or they're at home, they're our babies, they're our children. you know I have close to 900 children here that I call my own."
Police say three people, possibly teens themselves, were seen leaving the crime scene on bicycles.
Kinston Authorities say a 17-year-old was shot Thursday at 4:32PM on the 500 block of North Independence Street in Kinston.
Officers say when they got the scene they found 17-year-old Rasheed Jones lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound.
Jones was transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital via ambulance and then transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital via EastCare Air Ambulance. His condition at this time is not known.
The Kinston Department of Public Safety says it's looking for three young men, all wearing white tee shirts who witnesses say were involved in the shooting.
They were last seen running from the area.

The call came in shortly before 4:30 p.m. at the corner of East Washington and Independence Street.
Police tell WITN News that a 17-year-old was shot in the head and they are currently looking for three teens on bicycles wearing long white T-shirts.
A neighbor told reporter Dave Marcheskie that she heard two gunshots.
Police had shut down several blocks of Independence Street as they investigated the shooting, but have since re-opened the street.
