Masked Gunman Holds Up Store

An armed robbery Thursday night has Kinston police looking for a masked gunman.

Police say the K&A Food Mart on East Washington Avenue was robbed around 10:40 p.m. The gunman came into the store, turned off the store lights at a breaker box and demanded money from the cash register as he held a gun to the clerk's head.

The gunman got away with an undisclosed amount of money, running through an alley on the west side of the store. Police say no one was injured in the hold-up.

i have to agree with open carry and justice s comments until last week i didnt even have a firearm in my house, now i have 2 with plenty of ammo. problem is you cant just gun someone down just because they rob you. and some idiots think taking the guns away from law abiding citizens will solve it lol

If EVERY single person who works a "night shift" had a Concealed Handgun Permit, and carried on the job, these thugs would think twice before trying stunts like this. How many stick-ups will it take before the people of NC realize that they need to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their own safety? When seconds count, the police are only minutes away...

Crime, way out of hand, the time is coming upon us to find a new solution. The police is overwhelmed, unable to get a handle on it. The courts are no deterent, the prisons are filled. Has the time come to put citizens on patrol? Has the time come to expand the death penalty? Any able bodied lawabiding person should consider getting their CCP and buy a weapon and hope they never have to use it, but be prepared to if need be. NC should consider allowing citizens arrest, and granting protections to citizens who stop criminals, dead or alive.

Would anyone from Kinston like to explain what it feels like to hold up a convenient store? Kinston doesn't have many 24 hour stores due to robberies. It's the convenient story robbery capital of the state (per capita)
