Good news for Toyota customers. Toyota dealers nationwide and here in the east have received the parts and training needed to fix the recalled accelerator pedals.
Workers at Massey Toyota in Kinston have been swamped with customers coming in to get their pedals fixed.
The General Manager, Earl Morgan, says the dealership got the new parts and training to fix the recalled pedal last Wednesday.
Since then they've fixed around 200 cars and worked on 30 by Monday afternoon.
He says they've needed all hands on deck to keep up with how many customers are coming in to get the fix.
The fix takes about 30 minutes, and is free.
The mechanics are adding a reinforcement bar on the pedal and also reprogram the cars brake fail system on the computer to make it safer.
