Roses Stores Coming To Eastern Carolina Cities

People in two cities in Eastern Carolina will have a new place to do some discount shopping this spring.

Roses Department Stores are opening up in the spring in both Wilson and Kinston. The website for the company that owns the discount retailer says the Roses in Wilson will open where Steve & Barry's used to be in the Wilson Mall, with a target open date of March 1st. Kinston is also getting a Roses Store. The Kinston Free Press says it's scheduled to open by the end of March, where the Winn Dixie used to be on Herritage Street.

Didn't there USE to be a Roses in both Kinston & Wilson??? I guess they are owned by someone different now. Good. I used to love going shopping there. Glad they will be fairly close to home.

For the guy that said Greenville has a Roses they just call it Maxway. Thats not true. Maxway and Roses are owned by the same people. But the Maxway stores are much smaller than Roses. Put it like this Roses = K-Mart Maxway = TJ Max

Well I am white and am married to a white woman and my kids are white and I have no Mexicans or African Americans in my family and I don't care what anybody thinks about it. I don't buy into all the ignorant "diversity is a strength", "we are all the same, we are diverse" and "diversity is paramount" contradictory government and media brainwashing drivel and I don't care who likes it or not. If you want to be a sheep and let them tell you what to think and feed you nonsense, do it. Just leave those of us who can think for ourselves out of your utopian blatherfest.

I am amazed how an article can ignite so many different topics. The topic is Roses coming to town. I wish they would come back to New Bern because my mom and I used to shop in there alot. My father made $45 an hour. We just loved the store. What I want to know is why all the hate on retail workers? I have worked in retail for over 25 years. There are days that you want to scream at some of the customers that come in. I had an older lady scream at me that I was being racist because she entered from outside to pay for gas and jumped ahead of everyone. I politely told her she needed to get in line and she didn't like that. I ignored her and waited on the others who had been waiting patiently to pay. Called me racist for that and said I was treating her like a slave. I am married to a Mexican, have African American grandchildren --how racist could I be? When you deal with over 300-400 people a day, the pressure can be unreal. We aren't all K-Mart where the customer is always right. Think!!

Can they bring one back to Washington please? My mom went there during the holidays and racked up on all kinds of good things for the grandkids for Christmas. When I used to commute to Raleigh, I would stop by the one on the way to Raleigh (is it Zebulon?)and find good deals.

I visit the one in Plymouth sometimes. I have to drive a little ways but it is worth it to get what I need.

Maybe if we did not have rude customers we would not have rude clerks. I get some that really want me to blow but I don't. I just smile at the next one who has seen first hand what we deal with on a daily basis. The customer is not always right so why do we have to pretend that they are? I think Neo needs to move somewhere else. I hope he is not one of my rude customers.
