Good news for parents and kids at one area school, classes will resume Thursday at Kinston Charter Academy.
The school was closed Monday after a water leak flooded parts of the facility on Highway 11.
The school says students will be dismissed early Thursday and Friday at 1:00 p.m.
Buses will operate the regular hours for morning pickups and will operate on the early out schedule for the afternoon.
The school says it expects to resume normal schedule on Tuesday. School is closed on Monday for the Dr. Martin Luther King Birthday.
Kinston Charter says make up days will be announced later.
It could possibly be next week before a school in Kinston re-opens following a water line break.
School officials at Kinston Charter Academy say crews are working hard to clean up and survey the damage from the break Monday---but there is a lot to get done.
According to plumbers, a pipe burst due to weather related issues and water started gushing into the school. The middle school was flooded---and all students were evacuated.
