Residents in one county are still in Civil Court suing the city of Kinston because they're being forced into the All-America City and with that comes city taxes.
Some residents living northwest of Kinston are angry after city leaders forced them to annex and pay city taxes.
City leaders say they voted to annex because it is fiscally responsible.
But many who live in the area say they can't afford any more taxes.
Although annexation was already voted on by the city, the pending civil lawsuit prohibits them from moving forward.
At last check, the civil hearing was still ongoing.
