Police say they need your help in catching a gunman who robbed an older woman who ended up getting injured in the ordeal.
Pink Hill police say 68-year-old Mary Walls was pulling into her carport on Kinston Boulevard when a man pointed a shotgun at her, demanding her purse. The woman fell down while trying to avoid the robber and broke her elbow. It happened Saturday around 9:20 p.m.
The man snatched her purse from underneath her and was last seen running towards Leighton Drive. Chief Joey Thigpen says the gunman is described as a slender black man, approximately 6'0" tall, wearing a black ball cap, red bandana over his nose and mouth, black or dark blue shorts and not wearing a shirt.
