Lenoir County School Joins Charter School Fight

Some North Carolina schools say state regulations and local governments aren't giving them a fighting chance at getting much needed funding.

The North Carolina Institute of Constitutional Law filed a declatory judgment action saying it's time to give these schools a seat at the table.

There is some question under state law about whether some public charter schools can get capital funding.

Seven public charter schools are named in the suit that will be considered in Mecklenburg County.

Kinston Charter School is not one of the seven, but is on the battlefield with those who are.

Officials at Kinston Charter School say they need more school buses for transportation and that they lack many necessities in the classroom.
