Buildings Come Down In Kinston

Several vacant buildings that detract from the entrance way to one city are coming down.

The project to tear down five downtown Kinston buildings at the corner of Queen and South Streets city leaders say have been vacant for more than a decade began Wednesday.

Officials with the Pride of Kinston say the buildings are old, dilapidated and just an eyesore for the entrance into the city.

Contractors say it could take a few weeks to tear down all remaining buildings.
