East Carolina Equipment in Kinston is closing down.
A person at the business confirmed Thursday the company is shutting down.
A source told WITN the company was shutting down because of an issue with Kubota, one of the brands East Carolina Equipment carried.
The person at the business did confirm the shut down was connected to Kubota but did not give additional details.
WITN News contacted Kubota corporate headquarters in Torrence, California. A spokeswoman told us they had no comment on the closing.
According to the company's website, East Carolina Equipment opened its doors in 1999 and carried residential and commercial mowers.
According to eastcarolinaequipment.com, the company is "family owned and operated by Danny & Lora Shepherd, Victoria Williams, Shannon Smith and Sallie Shepherd. We are a farm family that has worked together our entire lives and have brought the agriculture and equipment knowledge with us to this business."
