Survivors of 1999's Hurricane Floyd are gathering in Kinston this weekend, nearly 10 years after the catastrophic flooding.
The Lincoln City reunion is expected to draw hundreds Saturday. This is the second year for the event.
Organizers say Lincoln City is a Kinston community that was almost completely destroyed by the floods of 1999, and most of the homes in the community have been demolished.
The reunion will be held at the Holloway Community Center on North Myrtle Street in Kinston from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. A program is scheduled for 2:15 p.m.
