Suspect Arrested After Shooting & Standoff

After a shooting and a standoff with the suspect, sheriff's deputies were able to get him to surrender without incident.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says when they took 26 year-old Richard Valley of Goldsboro into custody Wednesday morning, they also confiscated numerous weapons, ammunition, and surveillance and night vision equipment.

Valley was wanted for firing shots into a residence in LaGrange in Lenoir County hours earlier.

Authorities say Valley's girlfriend's stepfather lived at the house and his girlfriend was there at the time. No one was injured.

When armed people start shooting weapons inside occupied dwellings, they should be locked up for a long time. This is the actions of an aggressive person that knows no restrictions or cares about another persons life except his own.

The Step father was armed. He returned fire with a shotgun.

CC, It is unlikely from reading the story that we can come to the conclusion that the step father did not have any firearms. I am glad no one was hurt inside of the house!
