POLICE: Large Meth Operation Busted

Police say they have nabbed a major producer of methamphetamine in Kinston with an arrest Wednesday night.

Kenneth West is being held without bond on charges of making meth, maintaining a home for selling controlled substances, and maintaining a vehicle for selling controlled substances.

Kinston police say they concluded a month long investigation with a raid on West's Tyler Road home around 5:00 p.m. They say they discovered a meth lab in a small wooded area behind the home.

SBI agents and a regional hazmat team were called in to assist Kinston police in the investigation and clean-up.

It's terrible that a sweet little community has to be poisioned with this type of activty. This neighborhood is made up of a mix of retired/elderly who have lived there all their lives and hard working, honest families just trying to make a living and minding their own business. Thank you to the law enforcement folk trying to clean up dirt like this hiding in out nice community. Thank you.

Well this guy sure must have thought that he would never get caught. Who knows how long he has dealt with this stuff. Some people think they are invisible. This guy has apparently done the crime so he will apparently be doing the time also.
