People in Greene County gathered Thursday evening to wrap up child abuse prevention month.
Singers from Greene County High School sang a hymn inspired by raising awareness for child abuse. Savannah Mooring and Ashlyn Doyle presented their award winning poem, angels in the sky.
Greene County Social Service Members say over 120-thousand children were reported being abused or neglected last year. Raising awareness and trying to help children is why director Christy Nash says this is close to her heart.
Nash says she hopes to save the lives of children. North Carolina reported 25 children died last year due to abuse or neglect by their parents of caregiver.
