Honor Flag Comes To State In Memory Of Slain Deputy

A somber ceremony is underway in Raleigh to remember a Lenoir County deputy sheriff who was killed in the line of duty last week.

The United States honor flag arrived in Raleigh this morning and was raised at the state capitol in honor of Detective Allen Pearson.

The flag was greeted by deputies from Lenoir County and then escorted from the airport to the capital by the state highway patrol.

This marks the first time that the honor flag has flown in North Carolina.

The flag will be flown back to Miami where it is housed and then onto honor another fallen officer.
