Pearson Had Just Spoken About Law Enforcement To Elementary School

A community is still mourning over the loss of a local hero. That hero recently touched the lives of young people earlier this week.

Students at the Contentnea-Savannah Elementary School wrote letters and prayers Wednesday morning after hearing a recent visitor passed away.

Lenoir County Deputy Allen Pearson visited his childhood elementary school for career day Monday morning just hours before he was shot in the line of duty Tuesday night. He died at the hospital early Wednesday morning.

Pearson spent nearly four hours with third, fourth, and fifth grade students about being on the force at Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. One teacher says she knew Pearson personally. She says Pearson's impact on the children will last for a long time.

The prayers and letters written by the students will be sent to the Pearson family.

Cyndi-Pascal's Wager only proves that belief in religion is based on fear. How about this for a question. What if you are wrong? 30,000 varaitions of Christianity-they all can't be right. What if Ganesha, the Hindu god is the correct god? What is the real god is Allah? What if the real god is Jupiter or Poseidon-then 99% of the world's population are going to be sorry. You have no more proof than any Hindu or Muslim or Pagan when proving the existence of your particular god(s). So what if you are wrong?

Rob, I have a question for you, Just say you're right, You live you're life as you like and when you die you're body just goes back to dust, no judgment, No heaven No hell, No life afterwards, Ok,What have you lost nothing right? But question #2, What happens if you're wrong? What happens once you draw you're last breath, You find out then there Was a Heaven and now in Hell you lift up your eyes? What then? Too late then uh? The Bible say" A FOOL SAY'S THERE IS NO GOD. Yeap it is your right to believe how you choose, but for me and my house we shall serve the Lord, I hope before it is too late you find the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. God Bless.

Beth, I have more courage than you will ever know. An example is the courage to post my own comments and exercise my First Amendment right to free speech without any fear of reprisal, besides a few angry comments from conservatives like yourselves. I stand by my convictions. I don't weep over flag draped coffins. It's fact of life and reality.

Beth somebody must understand since Atheism is 4th behind Christianity, Islam, and Hindu. The problems is the universe is not proof god exists.

Hero Noun 1. A man distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength. This is how Webster defines a hero. So, I not sure what you don't understand Rob. Obviously you don't have the courage it takes to be a hero, but I'm glad that others do. I think all LEO, miltary and fire fighters are hero every day they put on their uniform. It takes an enormous amount of courage to face the possiblity of death each time you go to work. As for no God, I will never understand how anyone can look around at this awesome universe and think that is was formed and created without the hands of God!

WOW ROD I guess u fall in that gap of the ruthless violent and full of hate people!!! and u don't care who u hurt!!! Allen was a good friend of mine and he is a hero anyday in my book and I think god thinks the same thing,

Yes! Officer Allen was doing his job, but he falls under the term Hero, a Fallen Hero someone who stood in the gap to protect others from people who have no compassion for other people. This world has become a battle field for people to live in, people have become ruthless, violent full of hate, and don't care who they hurt or kill. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this Officer. ( GOD Bless)
