Eastern North Carolina felt the chill of winter again today following a brief warm-up. The first day of spring felt more like mid-February and the cold air could bring some frost and even a light freeze to the area this weekend. The first weekend of spring will feature lots of sunshine each afternoon but nights will be very cold for this time of year. There will be a risk of light patchy frost tonight as temperatures drop into the lower to middle 30s. A light wind may prevent much frost formation tonight but calm conditions will provide ideal conditions for a significant frost Saturday night. Once again, temperatures will fall to near freezing by early Sunday. Temperatures will begin to warm slightly by Sunday afternoon and much of next week looks dry and mild.
