Family Dollar Store Shut Down After Big Pot Bust

A La Grange business was shut down after lawmen say they found 23 pounds of pot there over the weekend.

It happened at the Family Dollar store on East Washington Street.

Lenoir County deputies, along with La Grange and Kinston police, acted on a tip and found two packages totaling 23 pounds of pot at the store Saturday.

They arrested store manager Melissa Collie and employee Belinda Pearson for trafficking in marijuana. The two posted bonds of $30,000.

The sheriff's department says the store temporarily closed until management from Family Dollar could arrive and assume control of the store.

Absolutely, we all could be jumping to conclusions but when the law puts those silver bracelets on you and give you a bond, it basically tells the story that you are guilty, if not both one of them knew what was going on...and for the other commenter it does matter if they have children..I don't know if you're a parent but I'm sure the last thing that any descent parent wants is to be faced with a situation like this...I hope you are not an educator or a parent...because certainly your children will be lost, it's very obvious where your concerns are!! If they are not guilty it will come out also!!

I agree with an earlier commenter, it doesn't matter whether you're black or white...drugs have no color..abosolutely it starts with the rich man, he can be Dominican, Mexican, Italian, Russian or even African American..if he has the money and the connections quite naturally he's not going to put himself out there like a big "IDIOT", he will use someone who is seeking to make that extra $$..these women had no one stick a gun to their heads..the made a conscious decision to sell drugs and that is a consequence...never will I do anything to put other people lives in danger...they should have thought before being greedy for this money. The old saying goes "EASY COME, EASY GO"...they need to learn about Jesus, it's obvious they didn't trust in him..because had they done so they would not be in the miserable situation...how shame their children must be...ladies get yourselves together, come home and start over..it is not the end of the world there is still a God and he loves you both.
