Kinston-Based State Trooper Fired

A state trooper in Kinston has been fired, but state officials won't say much more than that.

Trooper Ronald Ezell was a pilot with the aviation unit based in Kinston.

Captain Everett Clendenin says because of state personnel laws he cannot disclose the reason.

Ezell has been with the Highway Patrol since November 1989, and before that was a police officer in Duplin County. The trooper had been stationed in Kinston for the past ten years.

I do not know Officer Ezzell, but I have heard good things about him. I am praying with you and your family that God is faithful in any situation. During this difficult time, keep your good attitude and remember "what doesn't kill you makes you strong." People, rumors are nasty and insensitive. What if Witn post something about you? What do you want people to assume?

j erwin, just to let you know Trooper Ezzell had nothing to do with a album of these 2 men..the only thing Trooper Ezzell has in DC is family and his home. So as a family member I would really appreciate that you didn't spread rumors. Also, it doesn't make you sound any better by looking at the sneak peek. WITN, I think you shouldnt of posted his comment giving names of Duplin County officers. Im sure they wouldn't like this comment nor would their family members, not to mention Blake Wallace.

It's all in God's hands we will see soon what Ronald is meant to do. God has a plan for each of us. We just have to wait on his direction which way that we are meant to go. None of us are perfect and we have all made so many mistakes. Ones that you wish you could take back. I think even the bad mistakes like this are a stepping stone to something so much better. I'm still praying for the best. Ronald is truly a man of honor and respect. I've never met anyone that took his job so seriously with such admiration. Since the first day I met Ronald in the Clerks Office almost 20 years ago. He was a rookie so brand new and so excited about his job. He beamed with excitement that he could actually make a difference in the world helping fellow citizens. That made an impression on me that I will never forget. I think the public forgets that our law enforcement officials put their lives on the line everyday for us. I think that is amazing. I appreciate all of them.

I'm praying that Uncle Ronald gets good news this week! Everytime I see a patrol car go by I just want to call and see if it is him. Please continue praying! Thanks everyone for your support and prayers!

Hi Duplin Co. and other Ronald supporters. I just spoke to Ronald today. He is doing well. He has his laughter and sense of humor back which was wonderful to hear. He says that he should hear something by this coming week, Thursday at the latest. He is just praying the outcome goes in his favor so that he can get back to work doing his job. What he loved best for almost 20 years working for North Carolina trying to make a positive difference. Whether it has been patroling the roads or flying helicopters. God Bless You.
