More than three-thousand bags of heroin have been seized in Greene County after an undercover operation.
The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force says Willie Barr, Jr. of Goldsboro is charged with trafficking heroin by possession, trafficking heroin by transportation, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies say a three month investigation ended Thursday with Barr's arrest.
With the help of the Greene County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped the man's vehicle after it traveled into Greene County. That's when they found 61 bricks of heroin, or 3,050 bags, worth about $61,000 on the street.
Deputies say Barr was traveling to Newark, New Jersey to purchase large amounts of the drug, and then bring it back to North Carolina where he was supplying mid-level dealers.
The 41-year-old man's bond was set a $1,000,000.
