Another Chinese restaurant in Kinston has been robbed, the second one in two weeks.
Chen's Chinese Restaurant on West Vernon Avenue was held up around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. Owner Min Feng Chen told officers a black man, approximately 5'8" tall, wearing a long white t-shirt and a knit toboggan over his face was armed with a handgun. The robber was last seen running toward the Kinston Pawn Shop, before turning north toward the rear of that business.
On March 13th the Main Moon Restaurant, located just seven blocks away, was robbed just before 9:00 p.m. That robber is described as a black man, approximately 5'10" tall, weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask. That robber also made it getaway on foot.
Police do not believe the two robberies are connected, but say it's still early in the investigation.
