Arrest In Hospital And Library Parking Lot Armed Robberies

An 18-year-old is now charged in several recent crimes, including armed robberies in the parking lots of the Kinston Library and Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Jamari Davis of Blount Street in Kinston was arrested Thursday.

Police say Davis robbed a 71-year-old man by threatening to shoot him in the library parking lot on July 21, stole a woman's wallet and used her bankcard on July 28 and robbed a 66-year-old woman July 31 in the hospital parking lot while displaying what was believed to be a handgun.

Police say other arrests are possible.

Davis is charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of felony financial card theft, one count of felony financial transaction card fraud, one count of felony identity theft and one count of misdemeanor larceny. He was locked up in the Lenoir County jail until a $66,000 secured bond.

This is in response to Jacksonville! If you want to go into the white crime black crime you should get your statistics correct first. Also there is no perfect person which in turn means there is no perfect race. Everyone should respect everyone, but its people like you who always pull the race card that always want some kind of hand out! Don't be ignorant what this young man has done is wrong whether he was white black yellow green etc. Stop making something out of nothing and just be upset that things like this are happening in Kinston. We should all want the same things and that is NO crime at all!!!

I know alot of kids that don't have their fathers and grow up fine, but as one wise woman told me and also a pyschiatric will also tell you that everyone is not alike. I know some kids right now who live with their fathers and still do wrong. Sometimes having the father in the home is bad. My son's father is in the military just deployed to Iraq, so I guess becuse he is black he should just suck it up and deal with it right. People like you need heartbreak in your life. I feel sorry for you and your kids if you have any. If they were to lose you, people should treat them like a dog right even is they mess up.

Don't you know in some white people eyes blacks are wrong. Then we have people like blackman and data man commenting against their own race, but you don't see the white people commenting on the boy who killed his own mother(white), and the crazy pyscho with the bag of bones who is obviously a murderer(also white). They have more respect for their race than we do even if they are criminals.

hey sarah read your comment and I was just wondering what makes you think he has 3 kids by 3 diffrent women, would I be wrong to think the guy with the bones lives in a trailer, beats his wife, and is sick pervert, I mean that would make both of us wrong, I made a joke about the guy yeah, but I have enough sense to no a criminal in wrong no matter what race, or sex, or who his family may be, yeah this is off the subject, but I hate sterotypes about a certain race, and one last thing why is a black guy always called a thug, well I think you now were I'am going from here,.

I know alot of criminals with jobs. They can jobs faster than non-criminals. Anyway this is not half as bad as THE WHITE GUY with the bag of bones, but I don't see your greasy selves commenting on that story.

This is the very reason I tell my family and friends that I can't go to the hospital to visit at night. I am afraid to walk in the parking lot by myself. Maybe the hospital needs to post an armed security guard in the parking lot or better yet...maybe some of those policemen could actually get out of their cars and walk older people to their cars.

    Well stated Sarah!

He really doesn't look very happy does he? As stated before, if more people carried concealed, you would probably start to see a decline in this type of crime. Only thing is, you can't carry in a hospital or a bank, or a good portion of the businesses. And if you are caught coming out of one of these places, you will have no means to defend yourself.
