I want to know why the only guys in the news were the ones being robbed? Why the robbers were listed as victims? Why the ones defending themselves were portrayed as criminala? I am just a average citizen and have gotten all my facts from official public sites. Why is the news being posted so one sided? I know they posted facts they recieved from the Sheriff's department. But the story has changed. If you will type in "north carolina court calendar" in your search engine, choose defendent name and put Jenkins,Leroy all his pending cased will come up. Click on his name and then it will display his charges for all his cases. Also, go to North Carolina department of corrections public offender search and you will see that he is on probation in Edgecombe county. Again I am not stating any that is not public information on official websites.

You are right, Dang. It is not a park. It was and probably is still a very run down boat ramp. Due to its lack of up keep I am not sure if it is still used to launch boats.

    Justice, That's funny.

This story is obviously entirely fabricated, made-up, and fake. It is against NC State law to possess a loaded firearm on a boat launch. And since everyone knows that "gun control" laws actually work, and prevent criminals and thugs from doing bad things with guns, there is simply NO WAY this even happened as reported in this story. Please, WITN, when will you stop publishing these fake, made-believe stories?

You are right, JusticeForAll. "Gun Control" laws actually do work. That's why the "victim", who is a convicted FELON, currently on probation was in possession of a firearm in the first place. Everyone knows that it's against NC State law for a person convicted of a FELONY to possess a firearm.

The so called "Victims" in this case were actually trying to rob Joshua and Ashton at gunpoint. The "Injured Victim" held a large handgun to one of the guys head. What would you do if your friend had a large handgun pointed in his face? What would you do if you had been shot at by the same large handgun? Ashton saved his friend's life and defended his own. Now he's in jail. IN JAIL for defending his own life and saving his friend. Is it a crime in America to defend yourself? Even if the guys had given them the vehicle and everything in it, there was no guarantee that they still would not have been shot right there where they stood. The "Victims" are now being charged with attempted armed robery and some form of AWDW. If Ashton had not feared for his life and his friend's life would he have even picked up his gun? NO! Both "Victims" would be safe and sound out there and free to stick a gun in your face. So figure out what your move would be. At least you'll have time to plan your actions. These boys did not. They acted on instinct, instinct to live. I feel the charges on Ashton and Joshua should be dropped for self defense. Yes, someone was critically injured and I pray for his full recovery and his family daily. But he never would have been injured if he had not tried to rob those guys at gunpoint.

Not a mistake. It was a robbery gone bad. The robber got shot. Thugs trying to rob a hunter, who happened to also sell weed. Haha.

Anonymous, it was self defense. If the Edgecombe County Sheriff's department does their job it will come out.

FYI: LEROY JENKINS JR (one of the attempted robbers and driver) is now in the Edgecombe County Jail. He is under a quarter million secured bond. He is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. AWDW with appempt to kill and conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a dangerous weapon. Now who is the model citizen? Unlike some people, I do my homework before I post ignorant statements. He also has 2 other pending cases for seperate offenses. Reference: North Carolina Court Dates
