Rocky Mount Convenience Store Murders Remain Unsolved

The triple murder at a Farmville convenience store is a tragic reminder of two murders in Rocky Mount last year that remain unsolved

It was in March and May of last year when two store owners had an armed robber come into their stores and shoot them dead.

The first happened March 8th on Old Wilson Road when 47 year-old Sammy Soufan was found dead inside Sam's Takeout. The second happened May 19th at Karim's Food Mart on Raleigh Road. That's where Abdul Karim Alwarrak lost his life.

Rocky Mount police say that both cases are still open, and still show that there is no evidence that the two are linked.

Corporal Michael Lewis says they do think that someone in the community knows something about the crimes. "We really need them to step forward with the information, because I'm sure someone knows something that can assist in these two investigations and our department will continue to work these cases and work every lead to the absolute end"

Both of those stores have since shut down following the murders.
