Rocky Mount Man Held On $1 Million Bond For Attempted Murder

Jailers said a Rocky Mount man was facing a hefty bond and serious charges Thursday morning.

Deputies said 23-year-old Darrell Mitchell of Rocky Mount is in the Pitt County Detention Center charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, along with other charges.

Jailers said it was unclear what agency arrested Mitchell.

His bond is set at $1,010,500 ahead of his first court appearance, which is scheduled for Thursday morning.

We'll be following up with investigators today to find out more about Mitchell's case.
