NEW INFO: Missing Rocky Mount Woman Found Dead

The body of a missing woman from Rocky Mount has been found in a nearby county.

Britinae Whitehead was found dead in Halifax County Thursday night, apparently killed in a car crash, according to Captain Laura Fahnestock of the Rocky Mount Police Department.

The Highway Patrol says Whitehead was found on State Road 1340, which is Adcock Rd., less than a mile from the intersection with Milton Bridge Rd. Her vehicle was submerged in a creek. The location is about 11 miles from Enfield, where Whitehead was last seen Tuesday morning.

Troopers were called to the location to investigate the crash site around 9:50 p.m. Thursday.

Rocky Mount police say Britinae Whitehead was last seen Tuesday around 9:00 a.m. leaving a friend's home on White Oak Road in Enfield. She is believed to be driving a four-door gold 1994 Honda Accord, with North Carolina tag AAD-5876. The vehicle has a front plate with "Jessica" and the same name on the back window.

Whitehead is 5'03" tall, weighs 145 pounds and has long dark brown hair.
