New Edgecombe County Superintendent Sworn In

Edgecombe County Public Schools have a new superintendent.

Dr. Del Burns was sworn in as interim superintendent at Monday night's Board of Education meeting.

Dr. Burns came to Edgecombe County after serving as the Superintendent of Wake County Public Schools. Burns also served as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in Pitt County, among several other positions.

    the high turnover in this county-not just in superintendents but in other personnel as well-begs the question...what's really going?

    Why did Dr. Talley leave after only one year? I liked Mr. Talley and thought he was a very personable guy and so did the rest of the folks I know that have been around him during the last school year.
