Machete Robber, Gunman Get Away On Stolen Scooter

Police are looking for a machete-wielding robber, who along with another armed man stole a scooter from two people fishing.

It happened Sunday afternoon in the 1300 block of Griffin Street in Rocky Mount.

Police say two men were fishing in the river around 2:45 p.m. when they were approached by two young men. One of the teens showed a handgun and demanded the victim's motor scooter, while the other was armed with a machete. One of the victims was physically assaulted with the gun, but only received minor injuries.

The two got away on the stolen scooter that was last seen riding towards Nashville Road.
