An Eastern Carolina high school was on a brief lockdown this morning after deputies received a report of a fight between two students. That fight reportedly involved a student armed with a gun and the other with a broken bottle.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. at Southern Nash High School. Deputies were quick to arrive and found no fight and no gun. What they did find was a 17-year-old student had broken glass out of a trophy case and was holding it to his throat. The student was taken into custody and taken to Nash General Hospital for evaluation.
Deputies say at no time were any other students in any harm.
