A fire ripped through the Sharpsburg Restaurant in Nash County on Sunday. Fire officials believe it is a total loss.
According to Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Chief Randall Collie, a passerby saw smoke and flames at the restaurant on Highway 301 around 5:15 p.m. and called authorities.
Four departments responded. Collie says when they got there the backside of the structure was fully involved and spreading to the roof.
It took firefighters around an hour to put the fire out.
Collie says the restaurant is closed on Sundays so no one was inside at the time.
They are still investigating what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
