Elderly Man Killed In Rocky Mount House Fire

Rocky Mount police are investigating a fatal fire, but say so far, there is nothing suspicious about it.

Police say 81-year-old Charles Odom died in the fire at his home at 1225 Gay St. Wednesday afternoon. The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Police say the fire started in the kitchen.

Odom's wife and two adult sons were able to escape the blaze.
