I am so tired of all the constant whining and complaining that people do. Be thankful that God hasn't wiped us out like he did before (exception-Noah and his family). Really people, if you don't have the solution then you are contributing to the problem by constant complaining. Grow up and be thankful for what you do have!

I live in Edgecombe county and we've had brown water off and on for the last month. For years this water has smelled awful if it's left sitting for any time (like if you leave your washing machine on "soak"). I don't drink it and I am sick of paying so much for nasty water. Sure would be nice if they would fix the problem.

Someone is not telling this in it's entirety. Water thats properly treated will be pure and clean. Treatment plants are designed to clean and add bacteria killing chemicals to raw water. It then is filtered and tested b4 being sent down the line. I have never heard of water being "brown" if it's treated properly.

For years, I was dependent on a well and electricity to have water in my home. During Floyd, everyone got a taste(pun intended) of what it was like without any water. We should all be thankful to have the water we have, no matter the temparary inconvenience. If you were not here for Floyd, ask someone who was here. I think everyone would rather have any type of running water than no water. I did not have electricity for 4 days. But even a cold shower is better than no shower.

I am sure town officials notified the town of the problem as soon as they knew especially since their OWN families live there. I am pretty sure they didn't want them using/drinking the water either. Think about it!

Look. The water is not going to hurt, kill, or affect you in any way. It is just brown. It does not meet the minimum in test results. It is strickly an advisory mandated by the state. Oh, it effects Edge Co residents who get their water from Tarboro Water Plant also. I found out on the 27886 facebook page. So, Tarboro citizens are not the only ones who did not get a notification. Also, there was not a break in any lines.

Its not the storm that tainted the water, it's the flooding of the Tar River, I Live in Tarboro, and it wasn't until this weekend that the water turned brown, I think somewhere between Tarboro and Rocky Mount, the flood broke into the water system

Yeah, how many people have already gotten sick from drinking the water for a WEEK before any warnings were issued. Seriously, this is ridiculous!
