FIRST ON WITN: Greenville Man Arrested In Princeville Double Murders

A fifth person has now been arrested in the March killings of a couple in Princeville.

The Edgecombe County jail confirms that Alex Gibson is facing two counts of first degree murder and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The 18 year old Greenville man is being held with no bond.

Quan Carr and his girlfriend, Jasmine Chesson were gunned down in their home on March 18th.

Gibson is now the third person charged with the actual murders. Willie Whitehead and Antwan Anthony are also charged with the armed robbery and murder of the couple, as well as the deaths of three workers at a Farmville convenience store that happened two weeks later on April 1st.

Two other men from Farmville have been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder. Warrants say Ray Shasteen and Ronnell Joyner, both who are 20 years old, helped Whitehead with the "disposal and/or hiding of a handgun" used in the murder of Carr and Chesson.

Princeville police have yet to release a motive in the double homicide.

Two Farmville men are among four people charged so far in connection with a March double murder in Princeville. WITN first reported Monday that two suspects in a triple murder in Farmville had also been charged with that Edgecombe County crime.

Court records show Ray Shasteen and Ronnell Joyner, both who are 20 years old, have been charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Warrants say the two helped Willie Whitehead with the "disposal and/or hiding of a handgun" used in the murder of Quan Carr and his girlfriend, Jasmine Chesson.

Whitehead and Antwan Anthony are charged with the armed robbery and murder of the couple, as well as the deaths of three workers at a Farmville convenience store that happened two weeks later on April 1st. Arrest warrants at the Edgecombe County Courthouse say Whitehead and Anthony used a semi-automatic pistol to kill the couple.

Shasteen has a first appearance on Wednesday, while the others will be in court Thursday. Princeville police have yet to release a motive in the double homicide.

Police say other arrests are pending in the case.

Previous Story

Two people already arrested for the murders of three convenience store workers in Pitt County are now charged with a double murder in neighboring Edgecombe County.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office confirms to WITN News that Antwan Anthony and Willie Whitehead have been charged with the March 18th deaths of Quan Carr and his girlfriend, Jasmine Chesson. The couple's bodies were found in their Princeville home around 8:25 p.m. that night. The two had been shot.

Anthony is from Bethel, while Whitehead lived in Pinetops, which is in Edgecombe County.

The two were among four people charged in the April 1st triple homicide at the Hustle Mart in Farmville. 26-year-old Nabil Almoganahi, 24-year-old David Alawi, and 16-year-old Sam Almoganahi were shot and killed at their family owned store during a robbery.

The two murder cases happened exactly two weeks apart.

Pitt County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Christy Wallace says their investigators have been looking into the connection with the two cases and have been working with Princeville police in their case.

Investigators say three other people have been charged in the Princeville murders, but Edgecombe County authorities have yet to confirm that information.
