Arrest Made In 2009 Rocky Mount Murder

An arrest has been made in an unsolved murder from 2009.

Rocky Mount police say Kenneth Joyner was charged Wednesday with the August 21, 2009 murder of Henry Boney, Jr.

The 40-year-old man was shot during a robbery outside his home on Bedford Road. Boney told officers he shot back at the attacker. The man died several days later at the hospital in Greenville.

Police say a short time later Joyner reported he was wounded in a separate shooting.

He was arrested thanks to numerous investigators from Rocky Mount police and an ATF Task Force agent, according to police.

Joyner is being held without bond and police say additional charges may be made in the case.
