Woman Thwarts Robbery After Knife-Wielding Man Falls

Police say a crime victim thwarted and armed robbery when the knife-wielding man fell as he was making his getaway.

Rocky Mount police arrested Tobious Cox on an armed robbery charge.

It happened Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Corner Stone Apartments.

Lauren Filliettaz told police a man approached her from behind and demanded her purse. As the robber started to run away with the purse, he fell.

Filliettaz grabbed her purse back and the man dropped his knife. He ran towards Brown Drive where police say they found the 20-year-old Cox hiding in a home and they arrested him.

Maybe it's a sign for him not to pursue a career in thugery.

Personally, I'd rather trust myself for my personal safety than dumb luck. A legally concealed .45 is always better than mere happenstance.
